DESIGN POSSIBILITIES: Consider the possibilities for incorporating your personal touch throughout your new home or as you redecorate your present home. Reflections of your hobbies, interests, artistic preferences, etc. can go wherever there is tile: kitchens, baths, fireplaces, floor, walls, countertops, pool areas, and fountains.

Whatever your style: contemporary, traditional, Country,or Southwestern, Art on Tiles can complement your home decor. We have more than 300 designs in our files, and we are constantly creating new ones. If you are looking for something in particular, please let us know.

WARRANTY: We are confident that you will be pleased with these pieces of art. In fact, if you are not completely satisfied, we will provide a full refund within 30 days of receiving the returned product. Refunds do not include the original packaging and shipping charges.

DEPOSIT: Depending on your budget, we will sketch your design and provide a sample of the colors. We require a minimum non-refundable deposit of $65 for the design first phase. We will subtract the deposit amount from the total invoice if we accept the job.

SEND A SKETCH: Please send us a simple sketch of the project you want, along with the dimensions and a sample of your tile of choice. You may also want to include pieces of wallpaper and fabric, along with photographs. Or you may prefer to create a simple written outline of what you would like and approximately how much you have budgeted for the project.

BUDGETING: Hand-painted tiles and porcelain basins will fit within almost any budget. They come in a wide range of prices. The quantity of tiles and the number of firings are factors involved in determining the cost of your project. For example, for a realistic style of art, three or four firings are usually necessary. Depending on intricacy, painted tiles can range in price from approximately $10 to $70, and porcelain basins may range from $300 to $600 (amount does not include the price of basin itself).

Because there are many factors involved in pricing artwork, we have found that an hourly rate offers our clients more options, and-most importantly-a unique design that fits their budget. We charge $65 an hour, which includes the firing, paints, white tiles, and labor to paint (price of special tiles and shipping are not included).

DECAL CATALOG: If a small budget is your concern, you will find inexpensive, but good choices from the tiles we decorate with ceramic decals. These tiles are fired in a kiln to give the designs a permanent finish. You can be confident of their quality and durability. We perform our decal work using tiles that are sold in the open market, such as Florida, Daltile, USA Ceramic, Olean Pacific, Laufen, Incepa, Ceramic D'Imola and Ceramiche Ragno. We give our clients substantial savings on filling tiles. You don't need to buy all the tiles from us, only those with artwork. Please let us know the exact brand name and color number of the tiles you are using for the rest of your project. We will do our best to use the same tiles for your decorative tiles. We will choose the size of the tiles we think is most appropriate for the size of the decals. If you want to work with other tile sizes, please check the dimensions of the decal size in comparison to the size of the tiles. The decals need to fit nicely on the tiles.

ORIGINAL ARTWORK TILE USE AND RECOMMENDATIONS: You don't need to buy all the tiles from us, only those with artwork. We give you substantial savings on filling tiles. We work with tiles that are sold in the open market, such as Florida, Daltile, Laufen, Incepa, Ceramic D'Imola and Ceramiche Ragno. After we hand paint each piece, it is fired in the kiln. When taking measurements of your kitchen or project, remember the electrical and other outlets. We suggest taping a large piece of inexpensive paper on the wall and tracing the outlets, when possible, so we have exact measurements.

The best results for art on tiles are obtained from clear, glaze-colored tiles such as white, ivory, cream, or bone. It is possible to paint over some textured tiles (giving them the appearance of stone). Please send us a sample of the tile you plan to use.

BASINS: We have had great results working with Kohler basins. Let us know the model number and we will order it for you.

TIMING: If you are building a new home, check with your builder to find out the date the tiles are needed.

In order to help our clients with their design, we need answers to these questions:
1) Size of the backsplash and/or walls (height and width).

2) A list of the contents and colors clients prefer. Photos and/or sketches help the artists visualize the clients' ideas.

3) For those who have wallpaper in the area to be tiled, a sample will help the design team decide what colors tiles are needed to match the wallpaper.

4) An idea of the client's budget. Art on Tiles will suggest something in line with each client's budget. The hourly rate is $60 The budget total will be divided by 60 (hourly rate), and this will give us the number of hours we have to develop and finish the project. Note: the hourly rate does not include the price of the tiles, packaging, and shipping.

5) When clients have chosen the tiles to be used for their project, they need to let Art on Tiles know the brand name, color number/code, and dimensions (4 1/4x4 1/4 or 6x6).
